From My Perspective: Blog Posts From Around the World About
Rehabilitation Following Spinal Cord Injury

By Sharon Parmet

January 16, 2025

The Center for Rehabilitation Outcomes Research (CROR) at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab was awarded a $4.2 million, five-year grant to explore how different rehabilitation lengths of stay and intensity of rehabilitation affect outcomes and quality of life for people with spinal cord injury in different countries.

During that time, it has collected blog posts by people with SCI in several global communities about their injuries and rehabilitation. It contains stories from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and The Netherlands and share reflections on their unique rehabilitation experiences, what worked, what they wanted more (or less) of in rehabilitation, what it was like going home, and even how they are doing today.
