  1. BRYAN FINLEY says:

My injury occurred Dec 21,2012 from an auto accident. I am a male. C-5 was broken and my spinal cord stretched and damaged.
I had no feeling in my body except for the collar put around my neck. I could feel it pushing up on my cheeks.
Surgery to fuse my neck C3-C6 was done and the surgeons also removed the posterior section of the vertebrea.
I was told I was paralyzed and would never walk again.
I started to get some feeling back within 2 weeks and went into Rehab and learned to walk again. I stayed in the hospital for 5 1/2 weeks.
    Discharged to my home.
Daily out patient PT and OT for the first year.
6 months after the accident I started driving myself to Therapy.
2 years after the accident my paralyzed left elbow started working.
Still no function in my left shoulder and some contractures in my left hand, wrist and fingers but there is feeling in them.
12 years later I am a driver for people with disabilities taking them to medical appointments.
My doctor says I am a miracle!
    Life is good.
