After a sustaining a spinal cord injury during a high school football game, Van Brooks decided that his injury wasn’t going to stop him. He put everything he had into starting Safe Alternatives Foundation for Education, a nonprofit dedicated to helping Baltimore’s inner-city youth achieve academic success through vocational programs with real-world applications.
