Video: Adaptive Paragliding

December 3, 2024

Ralph Jorgensen, who has paraplegia, discovered paragliding last summer. After completing an adaptive paragliding course, he has taken 19 solo flights—he launches and lands in a specially designed wheelchair.

“My least depressed days are the days I know I’m coming out here in the afternoon, I got something to work for, get in the truck, get here, go fly,” Jorgensen said.

Project Airtime, in partnership with Astro Paragliding, is providing free tandem paragliding experiences to individuals with disabilities in Central Oregon. They aim to make the thrill of paragliding accessible to everyone.
