This first-of-its-kind manual standing wheelchair gives users to ability to move from both a standing or a sitting position. It’s operated by a hand-drive mechanism that uses chains, similar to those on a bicycle. It was developed by the Center for Bionic Medicine of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.
