I think you can find online community forums. The big issue becomes you’re typically living in a community where you might be the only person with a spinal cord injury, and then who do you talk to? There’s nobody next door, there’s nobody at your child’s basketball game, or there’s nobody at your church or anywhere else that you go that has a spinal cord injury. Take a look at social media, there are multiple sites. The one I am most familiar with is, of course, our peer site at Shepherd, Shepherd SCI Peers, and there are 2,500 instant people available for you to talk to. Most of them do have spinal cord injury; many of them are caregivers or family members of people with spinal cord injuries.
