The most honest answer to that is, “I don’t know.” And I use that as an entry point to say to people, “I don’t know if you’ll walk again.” We have the ability as human beings to frame how we think about something like that. I can chose to think about the not knowing as something that’s going to drive me crazy, or I can chose to reframe it as the fact that somebody is telling me they don’t know if I’m going to walk again leaves the door open to possibilities. There’s still a possibility there that I might and the most honest answer is, “I don’t know.”
