Participation, observation, standing back when you know that it’s time to stand back, or maybe when somebody’s giving you a cue, that it’s time to stand back a little bit, and let them do it for themselves. Especially with younger children, parents tend to do everything for them, and have to be reminded to stand back a little bit, and let them struggle. It’s difficult for parents to let their children struggle, and sometimes that struggle is what ultimately leads to the success. And so, parents need to know when to back off a little bit, but they also need to be there with words of encouragement, and lots of love, and understanding.
