I think of psychology as a key component to the rehabilitation process. We are all addressing individual issues that we have found to be very germane to spinal cord injury. And of course the physiological component is important because everything lives in the same place, the brain—how we think, how we feel, all lives in the same place. So we play a role in helping people to piece together this life event as a part of weaving it into their entire life. But as much as anything, the role of psychology is to help people to see a future of hope, we’re all about hope. What can that individual do to get what they want in life. As much as anything, I would like for individuals to hear psychology is a key component of this whole process of moving forward and weaving into the life experience.
