Wheelchair cushions are determined by the physical therapist in the rehab setting. There’s a variety—there’s gels, there’s water, there’s Roho, there’s standard. One cushion may work better than another for the individual, but what is done in conjunction with the proper determination of the proper wheelchair cushion is what we call pressure-mapping. And this is a technological computerized process where as the patient is sitting on the cushion, we can virtually see what areas are receiving the most pressure, so we can switch out the various seat cushions, and find what works best for that patient. Wheelchair cushions are like anything else; they wear-and-tear over time. And they need to be frequently inspected, they need to be properly inflated, and sometimes they need to be replaced.
