Lester Butt has worked in the field of Rehabilitation Psychology since 1977 when he began at Craig Hospital, where he served as the Director of Psychology from 1987-2015, responsible for direct clinical care and administrative duties.

Dr. Butt served as president of the American Board of Rehabilitation Psychology, and is the three-time past president of the American Association of Spinal Cord Injury Psychologists and Social Workers (AASCIPSW). He is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association divisions of Rehabilitation Psychology, Psychotherapy, and Trauma Psychology. In 2007, he was given the Lifetime Award of Practitioner Excellence by the American Psychological Association’s Division of Rehabilitation Psychology.

In his video interview, Dr. Butt answers basic questions about how group therapy can help a patient transition to a livable situation after a spinal cord injury. He delves deeply into how spouses and partners can get to a place where they accept paralysis and work it into their lives.
