I can’t remember exactly how I was told, how the news was given to me that I had a spinal cord injury. To be honest those first few days in the hospital were quite hazy. But I think it was a slow, dawning process on me as I realized I wasn’t much able to move, and the nurses were coming in and helping me with everything. And it took me some time to wrap my head around it, but eventually, at some point, I was fully aware of what was going on.
