The first days in the hospital were the most difficult for me because we didn’t know if he was going to survive, quite honestly. He also had an alcohol addiction that we were unaware of, and that it became apparent at Johns Hopkins after his two surgeries that totaled 20 hours. So, we had that aspect to deal with also.
