{"id":241990,"date":"2019-05-07T18:16:00","date_gmt":"2019-05-07T18:16:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/facingdisability.com\/blog\/?p=241990"},"modified":"2019-05-09T18:09:10","modified_gmt":"2019-05-09T18:09:10","slug":"runway-of-dreams-foundation-is-making-clothing-to-help-every-body","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/facingdisability.com\/blog\/runway-of-dreams-foundation-is-making-clothing-to-help-every-body","title":{"rendered":"Runway of Dreams Helps &#8216;Every Body&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-241999 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/facingdisability.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/.\/Screen-Shot-2019-05-07-at-11.27.28-AM-231x159.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"231\" height=\"159\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Runway of Dreams Foundation was founded by Mindy Scheier &#8211; a fashion designer and mother of a child with a disability.<\/p>\n<p>Her journey began when her son Oliver, who has a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy, wanted to wear jeans to school like his friends.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>She envisioned a marketplace where adaptive clothing for people with disabilities would be easy to access.<\/p>\n<p>Founded on the belief that clothing is a basic human need, the Runway of Dreams Foundation works with clothing manufacturers to make adaptive clothing readily available and to promote <em>differently-abled<\/em> people in the fashion industry.
