Yes you could become a paid caregiver but you have to find the funding source for families. Some states now are changing their Medicaid regulations so that family members can be paid as an in-home attendant care or personal-care assistants under their state program in a limited way. The Veterans Administration has had a program for years that could pay for some care in the home done by a spouse or another family member. In general, you have to find a funding source and usually it would be the state Medicaid program or the Veterans Administration, but that is not true in every state.
