You really and truly have buy-in from people, and if you don’t have buy-in, you have nothing.  Then you’re just scripting people, and you’re just training idiocy.  You’re keeping people away from their prior lives, and then when they’re out of the hospital, they’re lost.  Then they’re just floating—floating and swimming around—because they’ve made no choices; they’re too dependent upon their doctors, and the family doctors really have no clue half the time.  And, it’s just kind of the blind and blind at that point.  So, what we want to do, ideally, if I’ve done my job, I’ve made rehabilitation physicians out of every patient I treat.
