Dawn Sheaffer, MSW is a Licensed Social Worker who earned her graduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania.  She has worked with children with special health care needs in diverse settings including the foster care system, schools, medically fragile respite, and early intervention. For the last seven years, Dawn has been the Senior Social Worker at the Shriners Hospital for Children in Philadelphia where she supports, educates and coordinates services for children and adolescents with orthopedic and developmental concerns, with a primary focus in the area of spinal cord injury rehabilitation. Dawn is committed to providing support and services to her patients and families with the ultimate goal of optimizing psychosocial outcomes.
