Yes, that’s because with the healing phases, the last phase of healing is scar-tissue formation, or what we call, “remodeling.” And in this instance, there’s a laying down of collagen that forms into scar tissue. Scar tissue is never as strong as healthy tissue. At its fullest healed state, it’s only as 80% as strong as healthy tissue. In the beginning stages of scar tissue formation, it’s only half as strong.
