Aside from helping patients learn how to direct their care, and learn how to do as many of their self-cares like brushing their teeth, washing their face, operating their power wheelchair, instructing caregivers on how to help them if they need it. All in preparation to go home, and once they’re home, they come to us and say, “Now that I’m home, I really want to cook a meal for my kid.” And so, we’ll help them problem-solve how to navigate their kitchen, and how to use adaptive equipment if they need it to prepare a meal for their child.
