I think it proceeds in small steps of partnering with that caregiver, and making sure that you feel like the caregiver has all the concrete medical information as well as the knowledge about your child and their individual needs and preferences. And as much as it can be a slow handoff, I think that can be very beneficial both to the professional or caregiver that’s coming into take over that responsibility, as well the parent and child in developing that sense of trust and safety.
